Advises automotive and industrial clients on technology strategy, robotics deployment, and ROI analysis for humanoid applications in brownfield environments.
View Company ProfileHigh-ROI humanoid applications in brownfield environments — integration without costly retrofitting.
This session at the Advanced Humanoid Forum 2027 — Europe's premier humanoid event — focuses on one of the most commercially decisive questions in industrial robotics: where do humanoid applications deliver real ROI today, and how can they be integrated into existing brownfield environments without costly retrofitting?
Automotive and logistics are the two sectors where industrial humanoid robots are already moving from pilot projects to productive deployment. The panel brings together practitioners from FEV Consulting, Unitree, and AGIBOT to discuss real-world humanoid applications, integration patterns, and the economic case for deployment.
A core focus is takt time compatibility: humanoid robots must operate within existing production cycles and line speeds — not the other way around. The session addresses how humanoid AI, Physical AI, and flexible manipulation enable humanoids to fit into brownfield manufacturing, warehousing, and intralogistics without forcing a full line redesign.
Not every task is suited for a humanoid robot. The strongest business case emerges where flexibility, variability, and existing infrastructure meet. The panel will examine concrete humanoid applications across automotive and logistics:
Tasks where product variants change frequently and dedicated automation cannot keep pace.
Unstructured part handling in logistics and pre-assembly — a classic humanoid AI strength.
Moving containers, totes, and parts across mixed human-robot environments.
Mobile inspection tasks requiring human-like reach, vision, and judgment.
Picking, handing over, and operating tools in semi-structured workcells.
Deformable object manipulation — one of the hardest humanoid AI challenges with high value.
The vast majority of industrial environments are brownfield — existing factories, warehouses, and logistics hubs with established layouts, PLC infrastructure, ERP/MES systems, and takt times. Humanoid robots must adapt to these environments, not the other way around.
Mobile humanoid applications require the least infrastructure change — the robot comes to the work, not the other way around.
Highest ROI comes from tasks with high product variability and low volume — where dedicated automation is uneconomical.
Humanoids augment human workers rather than replacing them — human-robot collaboration is the fastest path to productive deployment.
